Learn to meditate

A non-religious introduction to meditation and being awake to the present moment for those in recovery. A practice in living life on life’s terms. No membership required, open to any fellowship, any background, any or no faith.
The group is meant as an introduction to meditation as well as a support for those exploring in this area. You are welcome to come once or come many times for sitting and discussion on the practice and how it relates to recovery from addiction.

We meet once a month on the last Tuesday at the London Central Library in downtown London, ON. We will be in one of the study rooms with a sign on the door indicating a meditation group. We are almost always in study room 3D which can be found on the 3rd floor in the north east corner. Ask at the 3rd floor desk if you are having trouble finding it. Changes to dates and times will be posted in the blog.

Format is generally to meet at 7-8pm and have a bit of an introduction to what meditation is, it’s relationship to addiction and recovery, do a practice meditation for 15-20 minutes, and follow with a discussion.

Mike has been practicing meditation since entering recovery in 2007. Introduced first to Mindfulness meditation, he has studied various teachers and practiced at Vipassana retreats. After a bit of a break, he became a student of Guy Gaudry Roshi at the London Zen Centre in 2015 and has been practicing there ever since.

Treeleaf Zendo is an online practice place for Zen practitioners who cannot easily commute to a Zen Centre due to health concerns, living in remote areas, or childcare, work, and family needs.
